Stay at home moms apology

The character in this cartoon is solely Obama. The artist seems to be very biased against him, as in believing that he has done nothing for the rack of jobless citizens. The artist points out the issue as well as makes hilarity of the 'at home mom' business, where they were said to have no job when in truth they like to believe that the home is their job. The quirky way that Obama is drawn in funny, i think that the 'unemployment' paper is another aspect in saying that Obama just has these types of problems right in front of them on his desk and is able to do what he likes with them.

The Big Gun

The character in this cartoon is Obama. The irony here is that the canon is very big but the outcome in fact is very small 'politics' flag, as if in a famous spoof cartoon. The artist's ideology is somewhat biased against Obama, as in saying his campaign in this issue is a floozy and a fake.

Obama vs Romney Prom 2012
The characters in this political cartoon are Obama , Romney and the statue of liberty. The symbols are the statue of liberty resembles the Women Voters of America. The title means that there is a fight between who will get the women's vote for the political campaign. The women voters have been constantly threatened and attacked when it has come to their status, pay, healthcare, and rights when it comes to the campaigning this year. Women voters make up about 50% of all American voters and this is a huge issue as to who will get the votes. The artist seems to have drawn the women voter startled here.

Romney On Top
The people in the cartoon are Romney and two republicans. The republicans are symbolized as their respective elephants and are the said 'owners' of the dog-like Romney. In the cartoon the elephant republicans are seen driving the the general election with a quite talkative dog-like Romney on the roof of the car with a leash around his neck. The things that Romney are saying are the basis of his political campaign and the artist are attempting to say that Romney is basically gloating about being the top 1%, cayman islands and such. Romney is the mutt of the political party, but the republicans want to 'muzzle' him.

Title: N/A

N/A

The people in this cartoon are, Obama(?)/Bush, Gingrich, Romney and Santorum, each sitting at a podium directed toward the Iowan audience.

I think the audience is pointing out the faults in everyone's campaign during the iowan primary. Each candidate has a specific quote, that doesn't make them look better and is comparing them to eachother.

This is playing on all the things in the current events that came up, each saying just pointing them out even further as if to say 'What is this? Anything better?' from the Iowan community at the time.

I don't believe there is much of a perspective ideologically with this cartoon, if anything this is fairly moderate in my opinion because it doesn't seem far in either direction and the play on words is subtle.

The symbols are the gators, which just happen to be each of the three remaining running candidates for republican GOP.

I think the artist meant by making the candidates gators are playing around with the who eats who concept, i believe that they are joking with how they're actually beating themselves up in the long run which i believe the GOP big gator that represents the mom is actually Obama in the end.

The gators, Romney, Gingrich and Santorum are asking the GOP gator that Mothers don't always eat their young and she is definitely disagreeing, because it depends on 'who'. The ideological perspective of the artist, i can't really tell, it seems really hit and miss.

This cartoon relates to current events mainly with the fact that the republican candidates continue to thwart themselves with the things they say. Santorum with the Kennedy outburst, Romney and the etch-a-sketch etc...

This doesn't really relate much to the class discussion..

This is ironic because it's backhanded compliment.

Fierce gators that are on the foodchain themselves. How more ironic can you get?

Title: Shaken Mitt

The words the artist chose to use are because Romney seems to be shaken by the entire 'Etch-a-sketch' theme.

The people here in this cartoon are Romney's adviser, Romney and a voter, with the obvious etch-a-sketch as well.

I think the artist means by this is to find hilarity in the fact that Romney believes he can just completely change something, but can't seem to change the voter / erase the person or is confusing the person with something to be erased.

Romney is holding up a person shaking him (voter) instead of the etch-asketch being handed to him by his advisor as he's asking how it works.

The ideological perspective by the artist seems fairly liberal, making fun of Romney's intellect almost mocking his words from the speech he gave this week through the use of art. It's really saying something about his overall attitude.

The way this is drawn reminds me of peanuts comics (insider note) , but it's hilarious and makes it lighter with the satire because this topic can be taken way too seriously.
